DESCRIPTION:This course provides participants with an overview of the Medical Reserve Corps of Greater Kansas City volunteer program.  This course includes training in the following:

\n*	Background and history of the Medical Reserve Corps program
\n*	Purpose and mission of the Medical Reserve Corps of Greater Kansas City
\n*	MRCKC organizational structure
\n*	Overview of local and regional emergency and public health services
\n*	MRCKC concept of operations
\n*	Activation and deployment
\n*	MRCKC core competencies, training, and exercise program
\n*	Expectations of MRCKC volunteers
\n*	Advantages of MRCKC membership
\n
\nInterested citizens and disaster and emergency response volunteers and professionals are encourage to attend. This includes Citizen Corps volunteer partners in Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) units, Community Emergency Response Teams (CERT), Volunteers in Police Service (VIPS), Fire Corps and Neighborhood Watch programs.
